SkyLed 4.0

Mobile LED softbox, 12.6 × 5.1 metres under a seamless supersoft diffuser, suspended from four points.

Construction

One frame, one cloth, forty modules

An aluminium frame of 12.6 × 5.1 metres carries forty modules. The cloth beneath it is a single length — there is no join, no seam and no frame in shot.

The modules sit 60 centimetres above the cloth. Over that distance their cones merge completely, which is why the emitted surface is even and the gradient across it stays soft.

The frame is assembled on the floor and hoisted from four points. Rigging time with three people: about three hours.

Two sizes

The system comes in two surfaces. Both stay one continuous surface under a single cloth — the smaller one is not a divided large one.

SkyLed 4.0 small6.45 × 3.20 m · 20.6 m²

The figures below refer to the large surface. Modules and power for the small surface will follow. Larger surfaces are available on purchase — the system scales.
